And Bowling/Karaoke night
We spent the past ten days at a villa by the beach in southern Sri Lanka.
We visited a tea farm.
We also visited the town of Fort Galle
A sea turtle hatchery where we released a few baby turtles back into the wild. And, the following evening a mama strolled up on shore to lay her eggs.
And on our final day we went whale watching. We saw five blue whales and numerous dolphins.
We arrived in Colombo, Sri Lanka and took a three hour van ride south to the seaside town of Galle. We are staying at Skye House, an estate on the beach.
I woke up early and decided to go for a quiet walk on the beach.
About three or four houses down is a sea turtle hatchery that we were planning on visiting in the next few day. As I walked over to read the faded sign to look for information on the days and hours of operation I heard an unusual noise. It sounded like a branch splitting but much louder.
And then, not five feet in front of me, an entire palm tree toppled over.
Hey, I’m walking here!
For four days we sailed through the Mergui Archipelago on Myanmar’s southern border. Aboard the Schooner Dallinghoo we sailed through water as untouched and pristine as I have ever seen.
My room was functional. And the bathroom, for a variety of reasons, favored constipation.
The views were spectacular.
